I am looking at archiving the Quicken Essentials data in an Excel file and starting new the first of the year with a application like CheckBook Pro. I see no value in a subscription based service, so I refuse to by a Quick en 2018 subscription. Quicken helps families and individuals track account balances, investments, budgeting, and other expenses. In the mean time, I am using remote desktop to access the files on the computer running the recovered Quicken Essentials app. I plan to try again, but just have not had the time to noodle through the process. I was able to recover Quicken Essentials on another Mac, but the Export from Essentials on the recovered files and the import to Quicken 2007 on my Macbook did not pick up all my transactions. Was able to install and run Quicken Mac 2007 on my Macbook Pro O/S 10.13.1, but could not import the data from the Quicken Essentials files stored on my Macbook. Apple hardware, software, and services work together to give your employees the power and flexibility to do whatever needs doing wherever that may be. When the world changes, business changes too. I purchased this version because my Quicken Essentials stopped working when I upgraded my Macbook Pro to High Sierra (Apple stopped supporting PowerPC apps). When it comes to workplace innovation, Mac means business. Not a good replacement for Quicken Essentials
